Natural: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral.
Animal: Silk, Wool, Hair (alpaca, camel, cow, goat, hare, horse, rabbit, vicuna etc.)
Vegetable: Seed (cotton, kapok); Bast (flax, hemp, jute, kenaf, ramie, etc); Leaf (abaca, henequen, manila, phormium tenax. sisal, etc.); Fruit (coir).
Mineral: Asbestos. Man-Made: Natural Polymer; Synthetic Polymer, Refractory and Related Fibers.
Natural Polymer: Regenerated Protein (casein, vegetable protein); Regenerated cellulose Rayon (viscose, cupramonnium); Cellulose esters (cellulose acetates); Miscellaneous (alginate, natural rubber).
Refractory and Related Fibres: carbon, glass, metal, metalic oxide, silica.
Synthetic Polymer: Polyurethanes; Polyamides (nylons); Polyesters; Polymerized hydrocarbons (ethylene, propylene); Synthetic rubbers; Polyvinyl derivatives.
Polyvinyl derivatives: Fluorine substituted (polytetrafluoroethylene); Hydroxyl substituted (vinyl alcohol); Chlorine substituted: mono- (vinyl chloride) and di - (vinylidene chloride); Cyano substituted: mono - (acrylics) and di - (vinylidene dinitrile).
